AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian said that ordinary people knew Lieutenant General Mohammad Bagheri, former Chief of Iran's Armed Forces Joint Staff, as a military commander; so, it is needed to pave the way for sharing his legacy and vision.
President Pezeshkian attended a memorial ceremony held on Monday in honor of Martyr Lieutenant General Mohammad Bagheri in Tehran.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the president lauded martyrs like Bagheri and others who were assassinated in the Zionist regime-imposed war. He referred to these martyrs’ sincerity, faith, and a relentless commitment to serving the people and bringing pride to the country; therefore, his absence is a tremendous loss for the country.
He also emphasized that the enemy has always sought to eliminate Iran’s intellectual and strategic elites. They continue these efforts even today, and it is necessary to protect the nation’s elite, and distinguished figures.
Regarding the recent 12-day war, Pezeshkian said that Iran’s success was not solely due to its missile and defense capabilities, because unity, resilience, and the support of the people were the real keys to victory.
The enemies hoped that after a military strike, the people would start protest and the Islamic Republic would fall, but the people foiled that plot, he said, adding that if Iranians maintain unity and also build regional alignment with neighboring countries, neither the Zionist regime nor any other enemy can easily conduct an act of aggression against Islamic nations.
